Donald received his BS and PharmD degrees from the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill. He completed a pharmacy practice residency at the University of Kentucky Medical Center and College of Pharmacy and a hematology/oncology specialty residency at UNC Hospitals and School of Pharmacy.
He has over 150 peer-reviewed publications and has been a principal or co-investigator on over 120 early phase clinical trials. Dr. Harvey is on the editorial board of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Cancer Chemotherapy and Pharmacology, and Pharmacotherapy. Donald is a past president of the Hematology Oncology Pharmacy Association and past chair of the Research committee of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). His research focuses on the application of clinical pharmacology principles to improve cancer treatment outcomes, and, more recently, improvements in anticancer drug development dose derivation processes and clinical trial inclusion.
