Wayne T. Nicholson, MD, PharmD, is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Pharmacology in the Mayo Clinic Coll of Medicine. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy at the Univ of the Pacific, Stockton, CA. After 10 yrs of clinical practice in critical care pharmacology, he attended the Saba Univ School of Medicine in the Netherlands Antilles, where he received his medical degree and Master’s degree in Hyperbaric Medicine. Dr. Nicholson completed a fellowship in Clinical Pharmacology and an additional Master’s degree in Clinical and Translational Science at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, following his medical residency at Michigan State Univ in Grand Rapids, MI.
Dr. Nicholson is a Consultant on the medical staff as a Clinical Pharmacologist in the Dept of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at the Mayo Clinic. He is the Course Director for Advanced Pharmacology in the Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice Program. He currently Chairs the Mayo Clinic Enterprise Pharmacogenomics Task Force, charged with clinical implementation of pharmacogenomics into practice. In addition to licensure in medicine and pharmacy practice, Dr. Nicholson is credentialed by the American Board of Clinical Pharmacology and the Board of Pharmacy Specialties.
