Lisa Benincosa is Senior Vice-President, Head of Clinical Pharmacology Strategy Division at Allucent. Previously she held the position of Global Head of Translational Medicine at EMD Serono, a business of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt Germany. She received her BS degree in Pharmacy (1987) from West Virginia University and Ph.D. (1993) from the University at Buffalo (UB), School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. In 1992, Lisa joined the Clinical Pharmacokinetic Department at SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals where she rose to position of Section Head with additional global responsibility for preclinical and clinical PK/PD. She joined Pfizer in 2001 as Director in Clinical Pharmacokinetics/Pharmacodynamics and became Executive Director and Groton/New London Clinical Pharmacology Site Head in 2003. Lisa joined Roche in 2009 and was Vice-President / Deputy Head Pharmaceutical Sciences and Global Head of DMPK, Clinical Pharmacology and Bioanalytical R&D over her 10-year tenure. She has received leadership awards over her career such as Pfizer People Leader Award in 2007, the Tribute to Women & Industry Award in 2012 and Leadership Excellence Award from Roche pRED in 2016 and the 2022 Hartmut Derendorf Mentorship in Clinical Pharmacology award from ACCP. She has been named to the WVU School of Pharmacy inaugural Hall of Fame and received the Willis G. Gregory Outstanding Alumni Award from UB. She delivered the ACoP 2023 Keynote Address. She has served as a member of the UB School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Dean’s Advisory Council and the Leadership Council, Center for Pharmacometrics and Systems Pharmacology, University of Florida College of Pharmacy. She is recognized externally for translational PK/PD and has been an invited presenter for the Clinical Investigator Training Program Harvard Medical School, UB Pharmaceutics Symposium, has delivered the UB David Chu Lectureship in 2017, UCSF Schools of Pharmacy and Medicine Symposium and contributor to the AAPS Translational Sciences 101 eCourse. She is a long-standing member of professional societies serving as reviewer of journals, appointed member of the Finance Committee, and named to the Board of Directors of ASCPT. She has more than 30 publications in peer reviewed journals.
