Dr. Catherine Sherwin is currently a Professor and Vice-Chair for Research, and Director of the Pediatric Clinical Pharmacology program in the Department of Pediatrics, Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine and Dayton Children's Hospital. She earned her PhD in Paediatric Clinical Pharmacology at the Univ of Otago, Dunedin School of Medicine, New Zealand in 2007. Dr. Sherwin completed a one-year Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Univ of Otago, Dept of Women’s and Children’s Health and following that, a two-year Postdoctoral T32 Fellowship training program in the Div of Clinical Pharmacology and Pediatric Rheumatology, Cincinnati Children's Hosp Medical Ctr Cincinnati, Ohio. Her pre-doctorate background includes a BSc(Hons) in Toxicology & Immunology and nursing within Cardiothoracic ICU/critical care. She received board certification from the American Board of Clinical Pharmacology in 2011. Dr. Sherwin has been a member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology (ACCP) since 2005. She became a fellow of ACCP in 2014 and was elected to the Board of Regents. Dr. Sherwin is also a Senior Editor for the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology.
