Tamara Cabalu graduated with a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Bradley University and obtained a Doctoral degree in Chemistry from Washington State University. Following a postdoctoral appointment at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Tamara joined DMPK at Merck in 2007. Since then, she has supported preclinical DMPK activities for numerous programs with a focus on infectious disease and neuroscience, including the development of Belsomra. Tamara has co-authored multiple publications on PBPK modeling and leads departmental objectives focusing on PBPK modeling scientific strategy. She has also been a member of several IQ-TALG (International Consortium for Innovation and Quality in Pharmaceutical Development, Translational and ADME Leadership Group) working groups focusing on PBPK modeling of drug interactions.
